Sophie Buttiens is a Healthcare principal based in EwingCole’s NYC studio. With 12 years of NY healthcare design experience, Sophie’s focus on sustainable methodologies rooted in evidence-based design allows her to tackle some of healthcare’s most challenging issues while supporting the most vulnerable populations. She enjoys seeking human-centric solutions to new challenges in complex healthcare environments, from initial research and exploratory planning through design and construction. Her compassionate leadership approach builds consensus among all project stakeholders and instills world-class hospitality in an inclusive setting for all building occupants. Sophie’s industry contributions extend to volunteer efforts such as with AMFP’s Program Committee, AIA Women in Architecture, and she is often invited as a speaker and design critic to NY design and architecture schools.
Gary Hamilton is a Senior Vice President and USA Healthcare Director at WSP, one of the nation’s largest engineering and infrastructure firms. He is a licensed professional engineer in USA as well as in the Europe. He has over 27 years of experience in the design healthcare facilities in the USA, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. He is a Project Management Profession (PMP) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He has designed over 27 projects that achieved LEED certified status and has designed a LEED Platinum hospital. He is a Fellow of American Society of Healthcare Engineers (FASHE).
Grace Lin, a senior consultant at Turner & Townsend, specializes in creating custom project delivery solutions for large healthcare and higher education organizations. With her vast experience in the field, Grace helps her clients achieve their capital planning and management goals. She has previously worked for global architectural firms and managed capital projects from the owner's side. Grace is a licensed architect in New York and holds a B.S. degree in Architecture, along with two master's degrees - in Construction Administration and Sustainability Management. Grace is an active member of the AIA Project Delivery Knowledge Community, where she has served as the chair (2019-2020) and currently serves on the national advisory group. Additionally, she co-chairs the AMFP NY Technical Programs Committee and leads the AMFP NY Podcast Committee. Her expertise is further demonstrated by her certification as a DBIA professional. Currently, she serves on the Owner Advisor Committee at DBIA National and the Designers Committee at DBIA NY Region.
Kristopher Pomilla is a seasoned project manager with a decade of experience in the specialized field of healthcare construction. His unwavering commitment to excellence and his comprehensive knowledge of the intricacies of healthcare facilities have made him an invaluable asset in the industry. Over the years, Kristopher has successfully led and managed a wide array of healthcare construction projects, from state-of-the-art hospital expansions to cutting-edge medical facility renovations. His keen attention to detail, combined with his ability to navigate the unique challenges of healthcare construction, has consistently delivered projects on time and within budget, ensuring that critical patient care services remain uninterrupted.
Kristopher's journey in healthcare construction began with a passion for creating spaces that directly impact patient well-being and medical innovation. He holds a degree in Architectural Design and a Minor in Construction Management and has continuously expanded his expertise through certifications and ongoing education in healthcare facility regulations and best practices. As a dedicated project manager, Kristopher Pomilla is driven by a profound commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure, making him a trusted leader in the field. With a track record of successful projects and a vision for the future of healthcare construction, he continues to be a driving force in the industry.
